Editorial policy

Emergency Roadside publishes practical information for US motorists choosing roadside help, understanding a breakdown and planning what to do next. The Emergency Roadside editorial team is responsible for the site’s research, writing and maintenance.

Research and sources

We prefer primary sources: public-agency pages, official program information, businesses’ own websites and business-authored public profiles. Provider pages show the source type, a source link and the date the information was checked. We do not present third-party reviews as verified business facts.

Directory inclusion

A provider is included only when its identity, location or stated coverage, contact information and relevant services can be supported by an appropriate public source. Inclusion is not an inspection, accreditation, ranking or recommendation. A business cannot buy an ordinary editorial listing or a more favorable description.

Accuracy and uncertainty

Hours, dispatch availability, service areas, prices and equipment can change. We distinguish a provider’s published claims from facts independently confirmed by a public authority, identify material limitations, and ask readers to confirm the current service and total price directly.

Corrections and updates

When reliable evidence shows that a material statement is wrong or no longer current, we correct or remove it and update the relevant check date when appropriate. Scheduled source reviews are used to find changed phone numbers, websites, coverage statements and services. We do not suppress accurate public information in exchange for payment.

Authorship

Editorial articles and state guides are published by the Emergency Roadside editorial team. Publication dates, update dates and supporting sources are shown where they are relevant to the reader.
